Vigier
INFO
Vigier is a French brand specializing in high-end electric guitars and basses. Founded in 1980 by Patrice Vigier, it produces its instruments in France and is known for its rigorous manufacturing and control methods, technological innovations, and the international artists who use their instruments. Despite decades of existence, the electric guitar industry is a particularly traditional and conservative environment, with few brands, like Vigier, where the research and development division prevails over marketing. Vigier's history began in the late 1970s with Patrice Vigier, who started his luthier activities by modifying his own guitars and becoming a repairman in 1978. In 1980, he launched the first Arpege guitars and basses, introducing his guitar concept. Over the years, Vigier has introduced numerous innovations, from modular PCB-based electronics to Phenowood fingerboards. From the 2000s onwards, it has continued to push boundaries, introducing new models and features such as the Expert series and the introduction of the interchangeable zero fret. In 2020, Vigier celebrates its 40th year in business, continuing to innovate with new features such as MIDI pickup switching and contoured maple tops.
