Jensen Loudspeakers
INFO
Peter L. Jensen, born in 1886 in Denmark and moved to America in 1909, invented the first loudspeaker, the "Magnavox", in 1915, which was first publicly used during President Woodrow Wilson's speech in 1919. In 1927, Jensen founded the Jensen® Radio Manufacturing Company, producing speakers for military use, radios, and public consumption. In the 1940s, his speakers were chosen by Leo Fender for the first guitar amplifiers, becoming the standard in products from major brands like Fender®, Ampeg®, and Gibson® until the late 1960s.
In the late 1990s, production of Jensen® speakers was revived by SICA Altoparlanti in Italy, producing models true to the originals and new modern speakers like the Jensen® Jet Series. Jensen® remains an icon in vintage tone and modern speaker technology.
