GARLAND – Hand-built Stringed Instruments

"I am an amateur luthier based in Luxembourg. I have been building acoustic guitars and other instruments for over 10 years after completing a course at the Totnes School of Guitarmaking in the UK. I build to customers' individual requirements, rather than having a fixed range of products. The sound is of course paramount, but I give clients a free choice of decorative elements on their ‘special’ instrument. I believe it is more important that a bespoke, hand-built instrument has an emotional connection with, and means something to its owner than it is to put my own stamp in an obvious place on my work. My work is designed to give a lifetime’s pleasure, and then finally be passed on to a loved one."
