Dowina Guitars
INFO
Dowina Guitars was founded in 1979 in Slovakia, beginning as a violin workshop overlooking the Devín Castle. The deep knowledge of classical luthiery was soon transferred to the guitar world, giving life to unique, refined, and highly personalized instruments.
Founder Stanislav Petko Marinov, who grew up around violins and studied acoustic engineering, blends craftsmanship and scientific precision in the selection of tonewoods and sound optimization. The initials SPM inside an instrument indicate that the soundboard was personally tuned by him.
Erika Maťo Marinová, with a background in Biomedical Physics, manages production while maintaining the brand's creative spirit, with a particular passion for custom guitars.
Peter Kičák, an expert in wood engineering and musical acoustics, has been part of Dowina since 2011, contributing technical innovation such as the “false cutaway” joint in the Aura concept.
Ján Sárkány, a guitarist and self-taught builder, represents the instinctive and passionate side of the team, blending musical experience with artisanal skill.
Today, Dowina is a brand that fuses traditional luthiery, acoustic experimentation, and a deep love for music.
