Shubb Capos
INFO
Shubb Capos was founded in 1974 by Rick Shubb and Dave Coontz with a vision to improve the capo design for musicians, starting with a fifth-string capo for banjos. The initial product quickly gained traction when legendary musicians like Jerry Garcia showed interest. Over the years, Shubb Capos grew, first from a small hobby to a full-scale production, expanding its catalog with innovative products like the compensated banjo bridge and the iconic Shubb guitar capo.
The company has continuously innovated, including the introduction of the deluxe capo in 1998, and the partial capo in 1995. Shubb Capos became the go-to choice for musicians due to their precision, durability, and ease of use. The company saw significant milestones like the sale of its two millionth capo in 2004 and five millionth capo in 2015.
Through the years, Shubb Capos has expanded globally, introduced various capo models, and grown its production, with significant changes in manufacturing in 2016 when the company became a sole proprietorship. Despite its growth, Shubb Capos remains committed to craftsmanship, providing high-quality products that meet the needs of musicians around the world.
